If you've ever fantasized about creating and selling killer iPhone and iPad apps, you need to check out app.itize.us. It is a site devoted to showcasing the coolest, most innovative apps. It's a mind boggling collection of apps that you won't find on the top seller lists. Here's how the site designer describes the mission of app.itize.us:
app.itize.us is a painstakingly curated presentation of the best of the best designed iPhone and iPad apps that are available via the app store (for free or paid). it is intentionally a very small hand picked selection compared to what is currently available via the app store (now upwards of 100k) due to the fact that its very difficult to find many of these apps since they are not part of any of the top rated/grossing lists.
i have spent quite a bit of time searching out the best apps for my personal collection via my network of design colleagues, other iPhone/IPad app blogs, online articles, friends referrals, and even mining the app store when I have time…
I have seen a few other iphone app sites out there, most of them I have seen are basically just link farms and showcasing the same old top 40 applications you see everywhere else. I started app.itise.us as I believe there is a need to get back to the basics of what the iPhone/iPad is all about, simplicity of use and elegance of design.
I visit app.itize.us about once per month. I have found several apps I would not have discovered through the "top app"listings you find so many other places on the web. My current favorite find is The Photo Cookbook for the iPad. It's, by far, the most "appetizing" app I've purchased.
